The main objective of this thesis is to design a warehouse and inventory management system to increase the availability of goods served in an engineering works company. The type of research is applied, explanatory, quantitative and pre-experimental, as a technique the documentary review, interview and observation were used. Initially, a diagnosis of the current situation was carried out, evidencing the deficient warehouse and inventory management, likewise, the indicators of availability of goods are lower than that established by the company, which is 95%. Subsequently, the design of the system was carried out, which includes the 5S methodology, Layout - SLP distribution, ABC methodology, policies for coding and storage, instructions for the reception, storage and distribution of goods. Based on a theoretical analysis of antecedents designed and implemented under the same concept, the indicators are projected estimating a variation in the area of use of the warehouse from 228 m2 to 182 m2, in the rotation of 0.61 to 1.70 times a year, in the Inventory accuracy from 82% to 97%, at the on-time dispatch level from 82% to 97% and at the complete delivery level from 79% to 95%. Finally, in the economic analysis of the design of the warehouse and inventory management system, a NPV of S /. 115,103.49, an IRR of 83.5% higher than COK 43.8%, therefore, the project must be considered, since it generates benefits for the company.
