In the present research, a proposal was made for a construction process of polymeric concrete through a coating to the columns with carbon fibers capable of improving their resistance; for this it was necessary to identify houses that presented self-construction, the main problem so methods of reinforcement with new materials are needed. Through a survey carried out in the neighborhood “Virgen de Guadalupe“ of the district of Breña we were able to recognize the deficiencies that present the buildings, where we verified that the 22 houses of the vicinity were results of the self-construction, for the investigation the house 104 was selected, so that its structure is analyzed and verified according to the rules and regulations in force in the country. Our results showed that housing 104, is working to the limit so, before any risk, mainly an earthquake of great magnitude, it can suffer irreparable damage, also structurally reviewed the application of our reinforcement method in Etabs checking that its application is viable and also that our proposal allows to improve the compressive strength on average by 45.47% as minimal. Finally, it was concluded that the houses de the fifth have the telluric movements as an imminent risk and their structures would not be able to resist, in addition to this the proposal of the construction process is feasible both economically and in quality thanks to the properties of the polymeric concrete.
