ABSTRACT This research deals with the implementation of Autonomous Maintenance to improve the production efficiency in a SINCRO brand of toilet paper converting machine, this was developed in the paper conversion plant of the KCC corporate company, leader in the market of toilet paper, paper towel and institutional paper. In 2010, as part of the corporation's guidelines, it is desired to improve the indicators of the Conversion area, for which the implementation of LEAN MANUFACTURING was carried out, in 02 of its paper converting lines, and subsequently the other converter lines were cascaded, then In 2013, the implementation of TPM was carried out in order to improve the management of the Maintenance area, but in this year 2016 we want to implement the Autonomous Maintenance in the Conversion area, in order to improve the efficiency of the line, since that this will count with the participation of the operators of the line involved in the detection of potential falas during the day of the Clean to inspect (CTI) and attacking the main causes of unemployment. In the present investigation, the Performance Cubed data for the months of Oct 2015 and Mar 2016 were used as a reference, this data was analyzed with the Pareto tool or also known as the 80/20 to determine which is the line with the highest loss in Production Efficiency (OEE), the line with the greatest opportunity being the FUTURA_1 line followed by the SINCRO_1 line with 55.6% and 60.2% of OEE respectively. For reasons of availability it was not possible to implement autonomous Maintenance (autonomous Care) in FUTURA_1, for this reason it had to be initially implemented in the SINCRO_1 Converting line. Subsequently analyzed with the Pareto tool which are the main causes of stops of the SINCRO_1 line, being the stops that most affect the production efficiency indicator (OEE) the breakdowns by 9.2% and stops by Paros minors with 9.5%, considering these 02 major stops, there was a loss of 18.7% of OEE, with 12.7% being their goal, which is equivalent to a loss of $ 78 624.00 dollars for the OEE excess. The implementation date of the Autonomous Care workshop was in June 2106, 02 groups were trained between operators and maintenance technicians for 04 days each group. On the first day we shared Concepts of Lean Manufacturing and the 8 wastes, of TPM and of Autonomous Maintenance (Autonomous Care) and Root cause analysis, as well as the participation of dynamics to align and know what is the knowledge that operators and maintenance technicians have about Autonomous Maintenance. On the second day we presented the importance of 5's and the concept of countermeasures, the “Clean up to Inspect“ day was held with the participation of the plant leaders, identifying 344 opportunities in the line which were labeled with AC cards. On the third day, the cleaning standards were carried out together with the participants (operators and technicians) and the presentations were made to the plant leaders at the end. At the end on the fourth day we developed the Leader Standard Works under the guidelines that should be Easy, Simple and Safe, which is with the participation of the plant leaders (Manager and Area Managers) to define what will be the flow for the treatment of security cards, Quality and Processes as appropriate, then also define the sustainability plan for autonomous Maintenance. As a result of the implementation of the Autonomous Maintenance (Autonomous Care) between the months of July to December 2016 in the SINCRO_1 toilet paper converting line, a decrease of 1.9% was obtained in the OEE of breakdowns and 2.1% in the OEE of Minor stoppages, which allowed us to increase the production efficiency of the Converting line by 4.0%, which represents a saving of $ 52,416.00 dollars.
