ABSTRACT The main objective of this thesis was to determine the environmental quality index of water destined for human consumption obtained from the tap of the same well in order to determine if this water is acceptable or not for human consumption in the populated center, for this purpose compared the physicochemical and microbiological results with the category A1 environmental quality standards approved by DSN ° 004-2017-MINAM and with the maximum permissible limits established in the water quality regulation approved in the DS N ° 031-2010-SA. To determine the ICA the ICA-PE was applied, physicochemical parameters such as turbidity, STD, chloride, sulfate, hardness, conductivity, pH, nitrates, nitrites and microbiological as Bac were measured. Total and thermotolerant coliforms, where the parameters that did not comply with the regulations were nitrite, sulfate, Bacteria Total and thermotolerant coliforms, based on the comparison of results, the calculation of the ICA was obtained, obtaining the ICA-PE value of 33.33, concluding that the average ICA-PE values of the water from the IRHS 23 tap well is rated as bad, which does not make it fit for human consumption. With respect to the other physicochemical parameters, all were within the environmental quality standards in category A1 approved by D.S. No. 004-2017-MINAM and with the maximum permissible limits established in the water quality regulation approved in the D.S. N ° 031-2010-SA. Keywords: Water quality Environmental, Environmental quality standards, physicochemical parameters, microbiological parameter.
