The general objective of this work was to determine the impact of the improvement proposal for the reduction of costs in the operations of drilling, haulage and transfer of ore in Compañía Minera Argentum S.A. First, a diagnosis was made of the current situation of the company in the mineral exploitation process. The drilling, haulage and transport operations were selected as they were diagnosed as the most critical in the company, because they are key activities for obtaining the ore concentrate. Once the identification stage of the problems was completed, the diagnosis of the company was drafted, in which all the evidences were taken into account to demonstrate the aforementioned. Likewise, calculations were carried out to determine the economic impact generated in the company by these problems represented in monetary losses of $ 91,221 per month. Likewise, in the present report the productive process of the mine is explained. Plans of distribution of plant and images of the facilities are presented, also a series of photographs where you can see the machines, equipment and tools used. The present investigation details the improvement proposal enunciated for cost reduction, and the economic and financial evaluation that corresponds to it. Argentum S.A. presents the following problems that are causing high costs in drilling, haulage and transportation operations: Bad distribution of plant. Unforeseen stops on Jumbo machinery Inaccurate quantity of the use of tippers The proposed improvement in drilling, haulage and transport operations contains methodologies and tools that will allow an optimal management of the aforementioned operations. These types of methodologies and tools are based on the idea of having under control, in order to guarantee a reduction of delays, planning and efficient distribution to reduce costs. Thus achieving a monthly benefit of $ 48,184 dollars. Finally, and with all the information analyzed and collected; and from the diagnosis that has been prepared, an analysis of the results will be presented in order to corroborate with quantitative data the evidences presented and thus achieve with the proposed improvement in drilling, haulage and transport operations. Obtaining as result a VAN of $ 208,664, a TIR 35% and a Benefit / Cost of 1.09.
