Based on the EOQ model with probabilistic demand, the main objective of this improvement proposal is to reduce the total cost of inventory and improve the supply plan of the NGO Socios en Salud, which specializes in providing health care services for people with low income. In that way, NGO Socios en Salud has established alliances with the public sector, private companies, scientific development institutions, foundations and university centers. NGO Socios en Salud shows that there are gaps in the management of inventories related to health products. These problems are related to the lack of integration between the tools used in order planning and other areas related to the supply chain. Once the proposal is prepared and the current situation is diagnosed, the ABC inventory analysis is used to determine the impact based on the economic value, and then the Wilson economic model or lot is applied to determine the optimal quantity of orders and stocks. security, as an improvement over the original model, an EOQ approach is incorporated for better inventory management. This is a real project that could help companies to standardize and increase their profits.
