The main objective of this research is to evaluate the impact of the implementation of the Occupational Health and Safety Management System under the guidelines of the ISO 45001 Standard in a fishing company in the city of Chimbote, in order to reduce their occupational risks. To achieve this objective, applied and pre-experimental research has been designed, whose unit of analysis or case study is a company dedicated to the extraction of hydrobiological resources for direct and indirect human consumption, the same that has 88 workers. For the collection of information, the techniques of direct observation, documentary review and surveys were applied, and whose instruments were the verification list or check list, questionnaires, matrices and risk maps. For data analysis and hypothesis testing, descriptive and comparative statistical techniques were used between risk levels before and after the implementation process of the occupational health and safety management system according to ISO 45001. The results of the investigation indicate that the production process of the company includes activities of raw material extraction, reception, recovery, storage, cooking, pressing, drying, cooling, purifying, grinding, bagging, storage and dispatch; It has an installed capacity to process 30,000 Tm/h at 90% of its use. Likewise, 288 risks have been identified, of which 13.19% are tolerable, 77.78% moderate and 9.03% important, which according to the risk factors are divided into physical, chemical, locative, electrical, ergonomic, mechanical, psychosocial and biological, distributed in the different work areas of the company. Based on the diagnosis of the company and prior identification of the risks, the occupational health and safety management system was implemented based on the guidelines established by the International Standard ISO 45001. Said implementation consisted of the design and application of a set of requirements in the different dimensions of the international standard, consisting of a general characterization of the company, design of occupational health and safety objectives, formulation of policies, plans, risk matrices, training, design of formats, records , statistics, etc., and whose implementation made it possible to shift important and moderate risks towards tolerable and trivial risks, significantly reducing the level and frequency of risks in the different areas and risk factors.
