ABSTRACT The objective of this research work is to determine the state of the infrastructure and its influence on the water quality of the drinking water and sanitation systems (SAPS) of the “Río Grande” microbasin farmhouses in the Cajamarca district. The work was developed in three stages: In the first stage, information was collected on infrastructure components and water samples for each collection of SAPS under the formats of the National Rural Sanitation Program (PNSR) and the Valec Ingenieros S.A.C. In the second stage, the information collected in the formats (PNSR and Valec) was selected in order to generate a situational diagnosis of the infrastructure and water quality of the SAPS. In the last stage the selected information was processed, thus obtaining the situational diagnosis of the infrastructure and water quality, which allowed us to relate the influence of the infrastructure on the water quality of the SAPS. The methodology used begins with the coordination of the presidents of the Administrative Boards of the Sanitation Service (JASS) to be able to enter the SAPS facilities of each village; thus allowing the collection of information of the infrastructure components in addition to collecting the water samples in each collection of the SAPS, a diagnosis was finally generated and the influence of the SAPS infrastructure on the quality of water provided to the population of the “Río Grande” Microbasin of the Cajamarca district. The hypothesis is based on the fact that the state of the infrastructure directly influences the water quality of the SAPS that they distribute to the population of “Río Grande”. Finally, it is concluded that the state of the Infrastructure does not directly influence the analyzed water quality of the SAPS, because it is not the only factor or indicator on which the water quality depends.
