When we talk about design, we refer to something more than just promoting consumerism or raising awareness. Design also enhances our visual environment and improves our quality of life. It evokes sensations and, in many cases, remains in our memory for a long time. This investigation aimed to analyze the UX-UI design in digital interfaces of museums under the concept of “The New Museology,“ focusing on creating interactive experiences for people with visual disabilities. The “new“ museums accommodate all cultural and social groups, making them multicultural and inclusive spaces designed to host diverse audiences. The hypothesis developed explores the links between digital interface design, the access of people with visual disabilities to cultural heritage, and the use of new technologies. Furthermore, the concept of the New Museology is examined, referencing the construction of new accessible exhibition spaces that consider the needs and experiences of users. Additionally, the investigation analyzes the connections between user experiences on websites and applications implemented by museums, grounded in museological concepts. Finally, the educational dimension of museums is highlighted with a brief introduction to some of the most prominent inclusive educational programs in the museum landscape.
