This study aims to determine the association between parenting styles from the perspective of adolescents and child-to-parent violence (CPV) in Metropolitan Lima, as well as to identify differences based on participant’s gender. The methodology is empirical, using a cross-sectional and associative strategy with a correlational and comparative design. The sample consisted of 202 adolescents aged 14 to 17, with 47.5% being males and 52.5% females. The Parenting Styles Scale and the Parent-to-Child Aggression Scale were employed. The results indicate that a low score in the commitment dimension is associated with CPV, particularly in adolescentes perceiving a negligent and authoritarian parenting style. Furthermore, females would be more likely to perceive the authoritarian style, and exhibit higher levels of psychological violence compared to males, who would perceive a permissive parenting style. In conclusion, the commitment dimension is significantly related to levels of child-to-parent violence.
