Maintenance management is a priority to start the production of a line since it ensures the efficiency of the production system, identifies the objectives, methods and data necessary to effectively evaluate the importance of existing machines. In a production process it is essential to ensure the continuity of all operations, from the beginning of production to its end. Therefore, it is necessary that all resources are available when they are demanded and maintain the flow in the operation. It is essential to ensure the availability of assets, particularly the machines used in production. This is essential to prevent unplanned stops and failures resulting from wear, which in turn favors greater productivity. Therefore, this work focuses on improving the availability of the primary crushing process in a mining organization, with the purpose of evaluating the optimal capacity of the machines involved in production and, as a result, developing a maintenance plan. Currently, low operational availability is observed due to unscheduled stops and failures in the primary crushing process. The data worked was obtained from an open pit mine with a crushing flow of 44,900 tons/day. To address this issue, two fundamental methodologies will be applied to improve maintenance: Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Standardized Work are methods used to implement the maintenance plan and increase the availability of the equipment involved during the production process.
