Youth series are part of a new genre that has gained importance in the last decade because in previous years there was little participation of young characters in Sitcoms, where different social actors come together, especially young people. The purpose of this study is to examine the perception of university students regarding the representation of youth in the series produced by the Netflix streaming platform, as well as its impact on their daily lives. To do this, a qualitative approach was used through semi-structured interviews, which allowed the desired results to be obtained thanks to the participation of university students who watched the series selected for the investigation. The most significant findings are that each young person managed to identify with a character and their respective problems, emphasizing the importance of negative influences and refraining from emulating harmful behaviors, but rather critically analyzing the messages transmitted in fiction. Consequently, it is inferred that youth series not only have the ability to entertain young audiences, but can also constitute a novel means of learning, providing a renewed perspective on life in youth.
