Objetive. to determine the level of knowledge and consumption of vitamins that favor the immune system against respiratory diseases in residents of the AA.HH. San Fernando, San Juan de Lurigancho, March-May, 2023. Materials and methods. the qualitative approach, correlational type and non-experimental and transversal design, in 203 residents of the AA.HH. San Fernando, using the Knowledge Questionnaire on the consumption of foods that contain vitamins and the Questionnaire on the consumption of vitamins that favor the immune system. Chi square was used for statistical analysis. Results. high knowledge was found about vitamins that favor the immune system (51.7%), high knowledge in the dimensions knowledge of the individual (58.1%) and interpretation of the individual (51.7%) and average knowledge in observation of the individual (57.6%); high consumption in the variable consumption of vitamins that favor the immune system (57.1%), high consumption in the dimension consumption by food group (52.2%) and medium in daily eating habits (52.2%). A relationship was found between knowledge and consumption of vitamins that favor the immune system against respiratory diseases (p<0.05). Conclusions. there is a relationship between knowledge and consumption of vitamins that favor the immune system against respiratory diseases.
