This research aimed to develop a proposal for guidelines for the management of sport and recreational fishing in protected natural areas, based on the review of existing experiences in other areas and their applicability to the reality of the national system of protected areas, as well as consultation with the main actors in the activity, sport fishermen and those responsible for the management of these protected spaces. Sport fishing is an activity that generates an important economic movement worldwide, and whose tendency is to grow. In the protected areas of the world, where it is carried out in an orderly manner, it represents an important source of income for recreation, helping to conserve these spaces, in many cases becoming an activity promoted as part of the management of these areas. In Peru the scenario is no different, sport fishing is an activity that has been experiencing growth, and with this growth the demand for spaces to develop has begun to require more space, some protected natural areas are receiving visitors to practice this activity. , so developing a base of guidelines and rules is important. With this work it has been possible to collect the impressions and expectations of both users, sport fishermen, and those responsible for the management of protected natural areas, to develop a proposal for guidelines that can be adopted by both parties, so that As in other parts of the world, the practice of this activity is compatible with the objectives of creation and conversion of the protected area. A total of nine guidelines are presented as an initial proposal for the orderly development of this activity in the different protected areas of the system.
