The pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) on the Peruvian coast, one of the main phytosanitary challenges is the infestation of nematodes, especially the genus Meloidogyne, also known as root knot nematode. To address this problem under field conditions, the effect of a Fluopyram-based nematicide was tested. The experiment took place in the province of Huaral, Lima, using a completely randomized block design (DBCA) with 5 doses of the nematicide (0, 0.5, 0.75, 0.90 and 1.0 L/ha), distributed in 4 blocks and a total of 20 experimental units. Assessments were conducted every 20 days over a 60-day period. The results indicate that the use of Fluopyram had a positive impact on the control of Meloidogyne incognita in the pomegranate crop, particularly doses of 0.9 to 1 L/ha were shown to reduce the incidence of the nematode in variables such as the percentage and degree of nodulation, as well as in the number of individuals present in roots and per gram of soil.
