Working capital is one of the main indicators in the financial health of any company in the short term; but at the same time, it is, unfortunately, a concept that becomes relevant in times of crisis and that its inadequate management leads to an imbalance between risk and profitability; and therefore, does not generate value for the company. In addition, it can lead to shortening the lifetime or, in the worst case, to the non-survival of the business. For this reason, the purpose of this research work is to present the study on the improvements made in the working capital of the company Nexa Resources Cajamarquilla, through the identification of the main problems with engineering techniques, analysis of historical information, analysis of current processes, conducting non-standardized interviews and through their own experience, which identified the best solution that will allow the implementation of best practices. The results of the research showed that the improvement in working capital generated an optimal cash cycle, providing liquidity for the company compared to previous years. On the other hand, the transparency and reliability of working capital reporting was improved by reviewing the processes involved in obtaining the information, aligning with the company's vision and above all with the mission of the financial area to be a strategic partner that promotes collaboration, transparency and thoughtful analysis to provide solid financial planning, support decision making, drive profitable growth and tell the company's financial story.
