Abstract: This study seeks to analyze and improve the purchasing procedure of a company in the electricity sector. The company in the sector belongs to a European group which, during that period, sought to adapt its global measures in matters of acquisitions or purchases in all its companies. The opportunity to make this improvement was taken advantage of to start a process of restructuring the area in order to improve the perception of the area by users without losing the quality of the contracts made by the area. The study begins with a brief description of the company, in which it is announced that it has more than one hydroelectric plant nationwide and has a production capacity measured in effective power of 450 MW. Likewise, an analysis of the electricity sector was carried out, each aspect was analyzed with the help of the PESTEL method, and with the evaluation matrices of internal and external factors, the Porter analysis, to conclude the description of the problem that was occurring in the company. The main objective of the research study is to propose improvements in the management of the supply area, considering specific objectives such as increasing the level of compliance in the attention of requirements by each buyer above 85%, improving the perception indicator or Procurement team assessment, implement tools to reduce buyer workload, implement the company's new procurement procedure and establish new formats for use by company users and buyers.
