The current paint market has a current value of US$350 million and a volume of 40 million gallons, giving a per capita consumption of approximately 1.3 gallons. In 2019, 1,143,000 liters of paint were consumed annually, 62.6% correspond to architectural paints, 19.1% original manufactures, 10.3% special purposes and 8% solvent-based. In this study, the influence of the low OEE indicator on the economic impact of a company in the industrial chemical sector was analyzed. The main causes of the problems are long setup times, non-conforming products and machine stops during the paint manufacturing process. An innovative improvement model is presented to address the main problem involving SMED tools fused with preventive and autonomous maintenance techniques, additionally these methodologies were reinforced with the implementation of 5S. The main objective of the research work is to improve the OEE indicator and as specific objectives to reduce setup times, reduce machine stops, and product non-conformity. For the validation of the implementation of the model, the scenarios were simulated in the simulation software in input analyzer and Arena, to determine the feasibility of the proposal and. The results show that the proposal reduces nonconforming products by 1% and increases OEE by 32%. Three economic scenarios were presented where an economic reduction of up to s/.107,207 soles was observed, being optimistic.
