Heavy machinery is an indispensable element in every country at the time of construction, whether for buildings, shopping malls, tracks, etc., these machines represent a great income for the companies that provide rental services, and in Peru, which is still in full development, they play an important role not only for its economy but also for that of the companies dedicated to construction. The objective of this work is to increase the hours of availability of concrete mixers of a heavy machinery rental company, which has an average of availability among the five concrete mixers of 79.3%, when the established level to reach a world class is 90%, this causes a gap between the company and the established level in the current market, which generates a low competitiveness of the company. The analysis made to the company revealed that the low availability of the company was due 37% to scheduled downtime caused by high maintenance times and lack of spare parts; and 63% to unscheduled downtime due to breakdowns and human error, which in total amounted to a total of 2630 hours unavailable for the company; for this reason, inventory management and Lean tools were implemented to reduce scheduled downtime and predictive maintenance to reduce unscheduled downtime. Finally, with the aforementioned tools, it was possible to reduce the unavailable hours of the self-loading concrete mixers and raise the availability indicator to 91.31%, thus achieving world class and increasing the company's competitiveness.
