This investigation analyses the functionality and formality problems that Peruvian, retail food markets display. As well as how this specific typology ended up being one of the most affected by COVID 19. La Victoria, district which has the second, largest business informality presence in the city of Lima, was chosen as this project’s emplacement. This, as a result of the high commercial demand that the district exhibits, next to the inadequate infrastructure they use to serve this purpose. The investigation’s main goal is based on the implementation of a new infrastructure that solves the already mentioned functionality, formality, sanitary, and social problems that current food markets display in La Victoria. In addition, to create a new integrative landmark that connects La Victoria with neighbouring districts.
