Water scarcity is a problem that results in changes in rainfall patterns, directly affecting the population and the agricultural sector, since it is not supplied as it should be. In Cusco, the agricultural sector is the most vulnerable, according to SENAMHI, due to the high presence of droughts. The following research aims to analyze the different cropping patterns in the study area, Santo Tomás and Capacmarca, depending on their use and consumption. This is to analyze different alternatives for the best use of water resources in the agricultural sector in the coming years. Thanks to CROPWAT and WEAP we obtain the calculation of irrigation demand flow (Qdm) and the calculation of available water (Qd), which will be necessary for the comparison of cropping patterns. First, we analyzed crop pattern 2 according to the Qdm value and the results showed that potato and starchy corn have the Qdm lower than Qd, with values between 0.033 mmc to 0.725 mmc, in Santo Tomás. On the other hand, quinoa is added to Capacmarca because of its resistance to drought, which is very convenient, considering that potato and starchy maize in the area are considered economically important. Finally, it is recommended to replace corn maize in both zones, since it has the highest Qdm among all crops, which is 0.746 mmc.
