Currently, there are many factors that can generate dissatisfaction among health sector users. One of the most common is the long wait for care in health care institutions, especially with regard to the generation of appointments and the limited availability of service hours. To address this problem, the main issues and objectives of this project were identified. In response, a mobile application called “EsSalud Mi Consulta” was developed for the Social Health Insurance - EsSalud. The objective of this application is to provide the insured with the autonomy to self-manage and separate their appointments according to the availability offered by each health service and doctor, avoiding the need to go in person or call to get an appointment at their Health Service Provider Institution (IPRESS) where they are assigned. The application was implemented on a cloud platform hosted on AWS, using services such as Amazon CloudFront, Amazon API Gateway, WAF for security, Lambda Function for sending emails and the Java programming language. In addition, other services described in the technological architecture of the project were used. The implementation of the application seeks to optimize medical care for EsSalud policyholders, providing them with a more convenient and efficient experience in the management of medical appointments, status queries, appointment dates, test results and prescriptions.
