The objective of the study was to analyze the relationship between parental stress and resilience in parents of people with Down syndrome in Metropolitan Lima, as well as to determine differences by variable in terms of age, gender and educational level, in addition to analyzing the levels of resilience. The design was correlational. A sample of 71 mothers and/or fathers aged between 35 and 80 years was studied. The Validation of the Stress Questionnaire (Sánchez, 2015) and the Adaptation of the Wagnild and Young Resilience Scale (Novella, 2002) were used. The results showed that there is no significant relationship between stress and resilience (Rho = -0.193 and p = 0.107). It was found that there are no differences in stress (p<0.05 and ε² = 0.00709) and resilience (p<0.05 and ε² = 0.01105) according to age. On the other hand, it was found that stress in mothers (X̅=84.1) is higher than in fathers (X̅=78.1). Likewise, it was shown that resilience in mothers (X̅ = 129.9) is similar to that of fathers (X̅ = 128.7). It was determined that according to educational level, stress (p=0.516 and ε²= 0.329) and resilience (p= 0.072 and ε²=0.497) did not present differences. Finally, the levels of resilience were 43.7% (medium level).
