In the current context of our world, the threat of airborne viral diseases and exposure to toxic gases has led to the widespread adoption of the use of face masks as an essential protective measure. Despite regulations and guidelines implemented to ensure the correct use of face masks, monitoring and proper enforcement of these measures remains a significant challenge. To address this issue, this project proposes the application of artificial intelligence (AI) through Deep Learning techniques and the Viola & Jones algorithm, supported by the versatile OpenCV library. The main objective is to develop a system capable of accurately and efficiently detecting the correct or incorrect use of masks and to perform facial recognition of offenders. In addition, a real-time monitoring function is implemented to allow continuous tracking and the generation of analytical reports for more effective management and more accurate control. The results obtained show that our approach is superior to other models investigated in the literature and offers an innovative solution to improve safety in environments that require the use of face masks. With this project, we aim to contribute to the protection of health in a world affected by invisible threats.
