The metal-mechanic sector has a large number of formal companies, predominantly MSEs. These companies work closely with the mining and construction industries, which motivates them to continuously improve their processes in order to remain competitive. In their search for optimization, they identify productivity as the main opportunity for improvement. This project addresses the problem of low productivity in a manufacturing process, proposing the application of solution tools such as SLP, Standardization of work and 5S. In addition, change management is used to evaluate how the commitment of operators as change agents evolves. As validation, a pilot plan was developed where these tools were implemented step by step, following the phases of the proposed solution design. Change management produced positive results, demonstrated by the execution of a pre- and post-implementation survey, revealing a 62% increase in operator commitment. The SLP improved the distribution of areas, reducing moving time by 69%. Standardization of work decreased production time by 2% and reduced the number of defective products by 5% by ensuring effective compliance with procedures. On the other hand, the implementation of 5S, together with constant audits, led to a 17% reduction in cycle time. Finally, overall productivity increased by 35%, demonstrating the effectiveness of the improvements implemented in the manufacturing process.
