In this study, the current commission scheme in one of the most important business units of a Peruvian pharmaceutical distributor has been examined. It has been observed that this scheme entails a high payroll cost, exceeding the limits recommended in the industry. In this context, a proposal for three alternatives has been developed to address this problem. These alternatives focus on the inclusion of commission variables, the implementation of quarterly and annual bonuses, as well as the adoption of a tiered compensation scheme. Its main objective is to effectively redistribute the amount of commission assigned to the sales force, with the purpose of aligning this economic compensation with the fulfillment of the sales goals established for the business unit. After an exhaustive comparative analysis of the financial results, the costs associated with the implementation of each alternative and the possible impact on the sales staff, it has been concluded that the most viable alternative is to “Include the collection variable and assign a percentage to the achievement of exceeding the monthly goal in the commission system. This option stands out for offering the best financial results, presenting reduced implementation costs and generating minimal impact on the sales force
