This study was conducted in the first level of health care; where the objective was to determine the level of satisfaction of seniors (older adults) about the kind of family functioning in the healthcare Center “MINSA”. Material and Methods: The study is quantitative, application level, cross sectional descriptive method. The sample was selected by a simple random probability sampling, which consisted of 108 seniors. The technique was the questionnaire and the instruments were the questionnaire about satisfaction of the seniors regarding the type of family functioning and family APGAR of Smilkstein. The results of the study: 100% (108) of older adults, 96.2% (104) are satisfied and 3.8% (4) dissatisfied. In the biological dimension of the older adults 98.1% (106) are satisfied and 1.9% (2) unsatisfied. The Psycho emotional dimension 98.1% (106) are satisfied and 1.9% (2) dissatisfied. In the social dimension 97.2% (105) are satisfied and 2.8% (3) dissatisfied. Regarding the type of family functioning in older adults 100% (108); 45.4% (49) are functional families; 50.9% (55), moderately functional families and 3.7% (4), dysfunctional families. In 60.2% affection dimension (65) is functional, followed by family dimension growth with 48.1% (52). About dysfunctional family is observed that the most outstanding dimension is the family member participation with 13.9% (15). About the moderate familiar functionality adaptability and resolution dimension, the most outstanding observed is 48.1% (52). The conclusions were: the most of seniors are satisfied about the kind of family functioning that exists in their homes. About the level of satisfaction in their biological, psycho-emotional and social dimensions, the most of seniors report being satisfied. About what the type of family functioning in first place most seniors are moderately functional families, followed by functional and dysfunctional. With regard to the dimensions of affection and family growth, families are functional; in adaptability and resolution dimensions are moderately functional.
