--- Objective: To determine the epidemiological and clinical characteristics of surgical laparoscopic cholecystectomy converted, in acute cholecystitis in the National Daniel Alcides Carrión Hospital from 2013 to 2015. Materials and Methods: A descriptive, retrospective and cross-sectional study, the conversion of laparoscopic cholecystectomy converted into emergency service and information was obtained from the operative reports and medical records were collected. The population was 30 cases of 18-76 years. Analysis of clinical, epidemiological and surgical, identifying the conversion rate. Results: 30 cases of laparoscopic cholecystectomy converted are included. The mean age was 50.63 ± 2.76 years; 73.3% (22/30) aged between 30-59 years old, 60% (16/30) men. 80% have developed fever. 20% (6/30) a longer eight days' sick leave. 73.33% leukocytosis and PCR in 100% of cases high. Increased and thickened gallbladder. 53.3% (6/30) were operated with the American technique with an average operating time 247min ± 8.9. Conclusions: The profile of the patient with laparoscopic cholecystectomy converted, is that the average adult or older, male, with a time of illness five to eight days, which presents inflammatory process, and has thickening and vesicular growth.
