The purpose of this study was to determine Renibacterium salmoninarum by the Indirect Fluorescent Antibody Technique (IFAT) in rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) and characterize the main macroscopic and microscopic lesions associated with their presence. Thirty three were collected for fattening fish (eight to nine months old) clinically ill from a fish farm located in the province of Huancayo-Junin-Peru, mainly taking samples of kidneys for determining technical Renibacterium salmoninarum by the IFAT and the description anatomic histopathological injuries. The alterations were found macroscopic pulposus kidneys and granulomas, that the indirect fluorescence antibodies were positive for Renibacterium salmoninarum with a frequency of 15.2% (5/33). Pathological findings and classification according to the degrees of injuries in the five samples tested positive for kidney IFAT were observed throughout the kidney. In head kidney predominated inflammatory disorders such as granulomas, increased melanomacrophage centers, and congestive disorder low to mild, and level of the body renal hyaline droplet degeneration of the epithelial cells tubular, inflammatory disorders such as granulomas with or without the presence of epithelioid cells, with spores of granulomas fungal, melanomacrophage centers increased further disruption of congestive type and tubular regeneration so low to moderate. We concluded that the Renibacterium salmoninarum is present at a farm in the Junin Region of Peru, where the largest macroscopic and microscopic lesions are found in the body kidney, but it is necessary for confirmation by the use of a molecular diagnostic test, also another cause of renal granuloma Rainbow Trout is the Ichthyophonus sp.
