*** Sexually Transmitted Infections are a public health problem, especially in the teen years and early adulthood due to situations that endanger their health and unhealthy behaviors. Objective: To establish the relationship between the level of STI knowledge and attitudes toward sexual risk behaviors in students of the Faculty of Medicine, San Marcos. Method: The study is quantitative, application -level, cross-sectional descriptive method. The sample consisted of 230 students in their first year of study, was used as an instrument, a questionnaire and a modified Likert scale. Results: Of 100 % (230) students, 61.8 % (142) were female.60 % (136) are between 19 to 21 years.100% (230),50.8 % (117 ) have a medium level of knowledge. In the School of Nursing, 100 % (32 ) 15.6 % (5) have low knowledge, the School of Medical Technology, 100 % (62 ) 66.1 % (41 ) have average knowledge , the School of Midwifery , the 100 % (39 ) 53.9 % ( 21) have high knowledge , the School of Medicine, 100 % (74) 44.6 % (33) have average knowledge and the School of Nutrition , 100 % (23) 47.8 % (11) have an average knowledge. 83% (191) have rejection attitudes toward sexual risk behaviors being Obstetrics School with 92.3 % (36) having the highest percentage rejecting attitudes toward sexual risk behaviors. Conclusion: The highest percentage of students have average knowledge about STIs and attitudes of rejection toward sexual risk behaviors through statistical test Chi Square there is a statistically significant relationship between the level of knowledge and attitude .
