--- Objectives: To identify the prevalence of the risk of eating disorders in freshman adolescent girls of San Marcos University in 2004. Material And Methods: Descriptive, observational, cross sectional and ambispective research. Its been asessed 173 adolescent girls between 15 and 19 years old registered in 2004, selected by stratified and random sample. It was administered The Eating Disorders Inventory, Health, Amenorrhea and Food Habits Questionnaire, Anthropometric assessment, and the Food Consumption Semiquantitative Frequency. Results 2.3% of the cases were in risk of food eating disorders. One of them were in risk of anorexia nervosa, another was in bulimia risk, and the last had non specific eating disorders. 75% of the teenagers had a normal weight, 17% excess weight, 6% malnutrition and 2%, obesity. 46,2% had body image distortion. All of the students with risk had an exacerbated worry about food, weight and body, opposite 9% without risk. Two students from the risk group had hight scores in bing eating episodes. Non risk group had low scores. All risk group did diet, opposite 21% with non risk group.
