Achievement of college students is influenced by a number of factors that are directly related to their academic performance during the training process, as such, the analysis of the relationship of the self-esteem, motivation, score for admission to the university, it is essential to be completed in recommendations aimed at improving outcomes by optimizing the educational process itself. Students in poor academic performance tend to have low self-esteem and motivation to learn, to work to keep a little sense of frustration at their failure experiences, to feel ineffective and avoid challenges. The study population consisted of freshmen in 2010 to the various faculties such as: School of Economics with its Professional Schools Administration and Accounting, Faculty of Law and Social Sciences with Law Schools and Management in Hospitality and Tourism Faculty Fisheries with Fishery Vocational School of Engineering, Faculty of Health Sciences with Professional Schools of Nursing and Midwifery. The conditions for admission to the University are: first choice, second choice (ordinary) conventions, better qualified disability sports. The score for freshmen was issued by the General Office of Admission. Achievement was analyzed by the weighted averages of two semesters, reached by the Office of Academic Coordination. Applying the test of self-esteem and motivation, was conducted as follows: - He stood one day a week to make the application of these tests in each faculty, with students regularly attend the compulsory subjects who have no pre requisite, performing as a group according to the instructions for each test. From the data it is concluded that those students with deficient levels and very poor academic performance (less than 10.99 in the vigesimal system) are also those students who achieved low levels and poor scores on their college entrance (less of 87 points out of 260 points which is the total), and have the motivation to learn in half low and low levels, corresponding to the students of the School of Fisheries Engineering and Agricultural Engineering. Similarly self-esteem is at a higher percentage in medium-low levels. Regarding the Academic Achievement found that students in law school are very good levels, good and regular, followed by students of the School of Accounting, Administration and Management in Hospitality and Tourism, who are located at levels well and regulate a greater percentage. Also, students of the Professional School of Forestry, Nursing Obstetrics and present academic performance have mostly located in the regular levels and poor. Unlike students in the School of Fisheries and Agricultural Engineering that their levels of academic achievement levels are found mostly in poor and very poor.
