--- The current research paper has as a general objective to make a diagnosis of the potential of the Pampa Hermosa National Sanctuary to develop bird watching tourism in the paths that connect the villages of Nueva Italia and Ninabamba which belongs to the districts of Huasahuasi and San Ramón respectively and setting up the guidelines of sustainable development that allows to improve the quality of life of the local population and preserve the biological diversity. The specific objectives comprise the generation of new proposals of birding trails on the buffer zone of the Sanctuary as well as a bird watching guide which allows a different kind of tourism offer that promotes a sustainable growth of bird watching tourism. The reason for the procedure of this research work is because the National Sanctuary Pampa Hermosa has enough resources to generate a touristic offer of bird watching and yet, it doesn´t have a plan to make this place an important tourist destination for bird watchers and ecotourists that visit the Peruvian Central Jungle. The information generated in this research can also serve as a basis for future investigations and projects which aim to promote sustainable economic activities on the buffer zone of the Pampa Hermosa National Sanctuary.
