The Terminal Chronic Renal Insufficiency (TCRI) is a common pathology in hospital emergency procedures, it directly relies in the patients search for medical cares, specially in the most aggressive cases and by our hospital attendance level jointly with the predominant population type with several comorbidity rates. For this is the reason this work contains the following Objectives: knowledge of the complexity dimensions such as electrolytic-basic acids, cardiovascular, hematological, infectious-neurological and dialytic; also including the knowledge of the epidemiological faces for different age ranges and gender, associated co-morbidity, attendance area and patient source at admission time; and finally, the hemodialysis program user characteristics and the treatment procedure given at admission time. Material And Methods: descriptive, transversal and prospective work from April to May of 2006. In this period 146 clinic profiles were analyzed, selecting a final population of 131 individuals diagnosed with TCRI, colleting the study data through specially prepared forms for this study. Data was analyzed using the SPSS computer software program (version 13) and we get some interesting results. Results: From the global population, 67 were male (51%) and 64 female (49%), with a average age from 60.45±16.03 years. From the gender view point were obtain no significant differences in the average age: 60.45±15.62 years for men and 60.44±16.57 years for women with a t-Student value of 0.997. The comorbidity more frequently associated was the arterial hypertension for more of the half of the studied population (51.9%) without significant differences between men and women, followed with Mellitus diabetes (16%). More of the admissions were caused by the medical topic area (61.8%), followed by the shock and trauma area were 30% of the cases where attended. From the studied cases, 98% were translated directly from their home to the hospital and 76% were already executing the hemodialysis procedure. More difficult procedures were the cases involving cardiovascular problems (33.9%), metabolic-electrolytic (32.06%), infectious (29.01%), hematological and neurological, both with 2.3% and only a one case with dialytic complications. 52.6% of the patients received both, medical and hemodialytic care, while 39% received medical care, followed by scheduled hemodialysis procedure and 18.3% received medical care without posterior hemodialysis. We expected what this study will be a contribution for a better knowledge of the TCRI and improving of the resource usages, reduction of the collateral morbidity and the quality of the patient cares. Conclusions: The more important complications with TCRI were, ordered by occurrence: cardiovascular, outstanding in the Pulmonary Waste Edema; electrolytic-metabolic, represented by the Hyperkalaemia and metabolic acidity and the infectious, outstanding the pulmonary sepsis followed from the urinary start point. Patients with TCRI that arrived to Emergency have an average age of 60 years, grater than reported in other studies. More frequent comorbidity associated to TCRI was the arterial hypertension, followed by Mellitus diabetes. We expected what this study will be a contribution for a better knowledge of the TCRI and improving of the resource usages, reduction of the collateral morbidity and the quality of the patient cares.
