--- The right to health of people, including access to medicines, because of its high impact on the recovery process of health and disease prevention; however; in public hospitals of Peru observed problems in the availability of medicines, affecting the patient and his family. In this context, it has reviewed the implications of the audit in the public sector, on the unit of analysis in the pharmaceutical management Hospital Sergio E. Bernales IGSS, instance that occurred between their results management, low availability of medicines and hence a partial dispensation of prescription to patients, conditioning increased out of pocket expenditure or if users do not have the financial resources, worsening health problem, by not completing the the medicines treatment prescribed. The research was performed with a representative sample of 40 actors involved the medicines supply process. The results of the investigation concludes that there is a directional relationship between the implementation of the recommendations arising from the audit and improving the availability of medicines; demonstrating the importance of completing the implementation of audit recommendations, in a comprehensive manner to achieve improved availability and consequently the dispensing of medicines.
