--- TITLE: Age, sex, obesity, and parity in patients with cholelithiasis of the Hospital Aurelio DÍaz Ufano and Peral. SJL, Lima 2015 OBJECTIVES: To demonstrate that age, sex, obesity, and parity are associated with cholelithiasis in patients hospitalized for surgery service of Hospital Aurelio Díaz Ufano and Peral (HADUYP), 2015. MATERIAL AND METHODS: correlational study. The sample are 375 clinical records, selected by convenience sampling, of patients hospitalized for surgery service of the HADUYP from January to December 2015. The results are presented by absolute and percentage frequencies; and partnership shown by X2 test and OR. RESULTS: In the sample, 141 were patients with cholelithiasis and 234, had the disease. Within the group of those with cholelithiasis as each variable: 46.8% patients were ≤ 40; and 53.2%, > 40; 82.98% were women; and 17.02% men; 4.26% were patients with low BMI; 36.17%, with normal BMI; 42.55%, overweight; 17.02%, with obesity; 12.82% were nulliparous; and 87.18% multiparous. It showed that the variables sex and parity has significant association with cholelithiasis; but age and obesity has no association with the disease. CONCLUTION: Cholelithiasis has a very close relationship with the female gender and multiparous. Obesity and age has no association with cholelithiasis.
