The aim of a field study was to evaluate the production parameters of a group of pies proceeding from vaccinated and not vaccinated sows against Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae (MH). Two groups of sows from a herd positive to MH were random1y selected, one of them was vaccinated with a bacterin 4 weeks before the farrowing, while the other was taken as control group. After the parturition, 30 piglets were selected, 50% female and 50% male, from each group of sows. When they were transferred to the growing area (19 days of age) and at slaughter (149 days of age) they were weighed. The food intake was registrated daily and by treatment group. Furthermore, the lung lesion degree in the slaughtered animas was evaluated in a scale from 0 to 6. No significant statistical difference was found in any production parameter (final weight and weight gaín) but less variability in the weight of the group proceeding from vaccinated sows and a tendency to more final and gain weight of males from vaccinated sows were observed. There was no statistical difference in the lung lesions between the evaluated groups.
