The purpose of the present research is to improve the delivery, distribution and control of medicaments and medical material of the Integral Insurance of Health (ISH) patients, in the pediatric rooms of emergency department, intensive cares unit (ICU), intermediate cares unit (InCU) and the neonatology room of the National Hospital “Dos de Mayo“ (NHI)M), by means of the implementation of the system of unit dose medicaments delivery (SUDMD). The research of the critical points of the traditional system of medicaments delivery was carried out using indicators as the average of medicaments delivered by recipes, medication cycle time, medicament costs and medication errors. The results point out that the average of medications delivered in emergency pharmacy by recipe for ISH patients ís in the relationship from 1 to 2, that is to say they only receive an a half of their pharmacotherapy. The medication cycle time obtained with the traditional system in the pediatric emergency room were 2 hours with 12 minutes and for the 1CUInCU room, 5 H with 15 minutes and the lost economic for the pediatric emergency room were S /« 1,025. 60 and for the ICU InCU room, S/. 1,855. 40. The medication errors showed that 81,96% of recipes is prescribed according to the national list of essential medicaments and. the 88,67% was prescribed in ICI) (International Common Denomination). Based in to this problem it was necessary to include the system of unit dose medicaments delivery. With the SUDMD it were obtained a new flow diagram. and the medication cycle time, giving as a result for the pediatric emergency room 1 hour and 52 minutes and ICU InCU, 3 hours with 11 minutes. The medicament costs in the emergency department showed a saving of S/. 2,368. 00 between medícaments and medical material undelivered. In the neonatology room was obtained a new more agile flow diagram, producing a saving of S/. 6,359. 46 between medicaments and medical material undelivered.
