110 alcoholic patients, 72 men and 38 women aged 20 to 50 years y/or more; and with a time of 3 consumption over 9 years, underwent a study whose aim was to establish a correlation between stages of change and quality of life. We used the scale of change assessment of the University of Rhode Island: URICA and the Scale and Quality of life for Olson and Barnes adapted to Lima. Their results show that patients alcoholics dominated contemplation of the stage and the stage it remains action; quality of life is better in women than in men deteriorate further with age, their quality of life in global terms was moderate or regular; tested the hypothesis showed a major multiple significant correlation and moderate magnitude (r same to 0,576) when p less than 0000,1 which means that when patients are in the initial stages of change therapeutical affects the quality of life improve with the passage other more advanced stages of change.
