Abstract: Objetivo: Evaluar el Programa de Segunda Especialización en Cirugía Pediátrica de la UNMSM.
Materiales y Métodos: Se realizó un estudio observacional, descriptivo y transversal entre el 2008 al 2009. Se revisó los documentos de gestión del Programa de Cirugía Pediátrica, con la “Guía de Evaluación del Programa de Segunda Especialización en Cirugía Pediátrica de la UNMSM” y se entrevistó a docentes, residentes, egresados y personal administrativo.
Resultados: El Programa se organiza en base a un Plan Estratégico del CONAREME y un Plan Curricular con disposiciones y/o direcciones de la Sección de Segunda Especialización y la Unidad de Post grado. Según el Grado de Cumplimiento, algunas variables se cumplen satisfactoriamente (4, 6, 15 y 21), cumplen aceptablemente (3, 5, 16, 18 y 24), cumple inaceptablemente (1, 2, 14 y 17) y algunas variables no se cumplen en forma aceptable (7-13, 19, 20, 22, 23 y 25).
Conclusiones: Según la evaluación realizada por la “Guía de Evaluación del Programa de Segunda Especialización en Cirugía Pediátrica de la UNMSM” el Programa cumple inaceptablemente los estándares de calidad.

It was revised the documents of administration of the Program of Pediatric Surgery, with the “Guide of Evaluation of the Program of Second Specialization in Pediatric Surgery of the UNMSM“ and we were interviewed to professor, residents, graduates and administrative personnel. Results: The Program is organized based on a Strategic Plan of the CONAREME and a Curricular Plan with dispositions of the Section of Second Specialization and the Unit of Post grade. According to the Grade of Execution, some variables are completed satisfactorily (4, 6, 15 and 21), other they are completed acceptably (3, 5, 16, 18 and 24), other variables are completed unacceptably (1, 2, 14 and 17) and some variables are not completed in acceptable form (7-13, 19, 20, 22, 23 and 25). Conclusions: According to the evaluation carried out by the “Guide of Evaluation of the Program of Second Specialization in Pediatric Surgery of the UNMSM“ the Program completes the standards of quality unacceptably.
