--- The main of this study was to determine whether commonly used inhalers influence the prevalence of dental caries in asthmatic children attending at the Naval Medical Center “Santiago Távara“ (CEMENA). The population consisted of 184 children between 3 and 13 years old divided into two groups of 92 children each. The first group integrated by asthmatic children using inhalers and the second group were healthy children attending the same hospital. The children were taken their personal data and medical data between them if you have asthma, treatment time, which uses drugs and the dose. They will also perform an oral exam evaluating the oral hygiene index (O'Leary) and cariogenic diet, included in the investigation on children only submit fair to good higiene and a low cariogenic diet or regular at that time. After determining if the investigation included an oral examination is carried out using the epidemiological index of dental caries (DMFT). It was concluded that the population studied commonly used inhalers are not a influential factor for the presence of caries.
