--- Stress worldwide, more so in older adults affects the health and quality of life of people, an issue that we worked on this study: “level of stress and coping strategies used by adults over the Association's Auquis Ollantay, Pamplona Alta, San Juan de Miraflores-2011 “. The methodology was descriptive cross sectional study. The technique was the interview survey and the instruments the PSQ and the profile of coping. The results were: 100% (50) of older adults, 44% (22) have an average level of stress, 36% (18) a high level and 20% (10) a low level. Coping strategies, 84% (42) have present the cognitive dimension, 66% (33) the emotional and 64% (32) the behavior. In dimensions of the present stress level: concerns 48% (24) an average, 28% (14) a high level and 24% (12) a low level. 46% strain (92) an intermediate, 4% (2) a high level and 4% (2) a low level. 88% Joy (44) an intermediate, 4% (8) a low level and 4% (2) a high level. In coping dimensions are present and in the cognitive, 92% (46) concern, 86% (43) seeking social support and82% self-criticism (41), in the affective: 98% (49) social support, 66% (33) escape / avoidance and 58% (29) isolation. Behaviorally, 90% (45) planning, 70% (35) give, 58% (29) focus on solving the problem. In conclusion: Seniors Association “The Auquis Ollantay“ in Pamplona Alta, San Juan de Miraflores have an average trend of the high stress and coping strategies used: cognitive, affective and behavioral.
