-- The objectives of this study were (1) to determine the impact that culture has on the effect of the religious dimension of the spiritual well being on resilience in psychology students from national universities from four Latin American countries, (2) to establish the association between levels of the variables studied, (3) to compare the resilience between psychology students from national universities, by gender, employment status, religion and country of origin, and (4) to compare the religious dimension of spiritual well being according to the same criteria. The sample consisted of 308 male and female students who were in the first year at the Faculty of Psychology of national universities in urban areas of Argentina (82), República Dominicana (79), Perú (74) and Bolivia (73) selected through convenience sampling in each country. It is a trans-cultural study with a design of psychological differences with emic-ethical approach. As instruments were used Subscale Religious Dimension of Scale of Spiritual well being of Paloutzian and Ellison and Scale of Resilience of Wagnild and Young. Among the main results, there were found that (1) Culture has an impact on the effect of the religious dimension of spiritual well being on resilience, specifically in psychology students of national universities in the República Dominicana and Bolivia. While students in Perú and Argentina, there was not found a relationship. (2) It was found a significant association between the levels of the religious dimension of spiritual well being and the levels of resilience (with their respective factors of personal competence and acceptance of self and life) in psychology students from national universities of Bolivia and República Dominicana. While this association was no found in students of Perú and Argentina. (3) There are no significant differences in resilience, by gender, employment status and religion. However, by country of origin, there were found differences, there was the highest average in the República Dominicana, second in Perú, third in Bolivia and at the bottom in Argentina. (4) There are significant differences in the religious dimension of spiritual well-being by gender, where female students have higher levels than male students; according to employment status, where those who work and study at the same time have higher levels than those who only study; as religion, non-catholic students have higher levels than catholics; and finally, by country of origin, where students from the República Dominicana have the highest spiritual well-being in the religious dimension, secondly Bolivia, Perú thirdly and finally, students from Argentina. -- Key words: Spiritual Well-being, Religious Well-being, Students, Latin America, Psychology, Resilience, Transculturality, National university.
