--- Background: Traffic accidents with motorcycle taxis are a latent problem of public health by population growth, the increase in the fleet and the potential damage to health from. Objective: Describe confined to traffic accidents with mototaxi treated at the Hospital San Juan de Lurigancho January to December 2015 features. Design: Quantitative, descriptive, retrospective. Location: Hospital San Juan de Lurigancho Participants: Medical records of traffic accidents with mototaxi treated at the Surgery Topic Emergency Service Hospital San Juan de Lurigancho in 2015. Interventions: data from medical records filed in the corresponding regular medical records SOAT, located in the hospital area Archives section were collected. Main outcome measures: graphics and quantitative measures of frequency distribution was used Results: 608 cases of traffic accidents with mototaxi a total of 1964 cases were found, the distribution of those affected by gender was equivalent in all age groups, the population most exposed were the occupants of the vehicle and the age group 20 to 40 years , the same group of almost 50% of drivers involved; the most common injuries were minor bruises and contusions, only 1 case of death; the days of major accidents are between Wednesday and Friday, and between the months of June to October; the shock and abuse were the main modalities; continuity of care was greater than 97%, 100% was AFOCAT type policies. Conclusion: There is an urgent need to implement more effective ways to address the risk factors associated with motorcycle taxi traffic accidents, whether legislative, environmental or social level.
