Objective: To determine the thickness of the cranial diploe in Magnetic Resonance images. Mount Sinai Hospital. September 2012 - September 2013. Materials and Methods: An observational, descriptive cross-sectional retrospective study was conducted using the images of the medical records of 113 patients who had an MRI studies at Mount Sinai Hospital Juliaca, Puno. Results: It was found that the average thickness cranial diploe in men 20 to 50 years is 3.8 mm, the thickness of diploe average women 20-50 years is 3.6 mm, the thickness of diploe average men between the ages of 25-28 years is 3.6 mm, between the ages of 29-39 years is 3.7 mm, and between the ages of 40-49 years is 4.2 mm, the thickness of diploe average in women aged 25-28 years is 2.9 mm, between the ages of 29-39 years is 3.5 mm and between the ages of 40-49 years is 4.7 mm. Conclusions: With the exception of the last group of women aged 40-49 years found that men have a greater thickness cranial diploe. According to the results has been prepared a table with the average values of the thickness of the cranial diploe, it will serve as a diagnostic aid for future neurological studies on MRI.
