-- The intention of the present study was to evaluate the prevalence of carcinoma epidermoide oral in the period of 2006 - 2009 in the Hospital Nacional Dos de Mayo (HNDM) and in the Hospital General Santa Rosa (HGSR) according to age, sex, anatomical location, histological diagnosis, histological variety, habits of consumption, clinical stadium TNM and treatment. There took the information of the clinical histories of the patients who came to the service of surgery of head and neck of the HNDM and to the service of oncology of abdomen, head and neck of the HGSR. During this period the total number of cases was of 54, being 30 cases in the HNDM and 24 cases for the HGSR. 94,5% was 40-year-old major patients, being the most affected seventh decade. The masculine and feminine sex they were equally affected. The carcinoma epidermoide of language was the most affected, followed by that of alveolar curbing and the least frequent was of trigono retromolar. The carcinoma epidermoide obtained a frequency of 96,2% and the carcinoma verrucoso 3,8%. The carcinoma epidermoide differentiated good (grade I) obtained the same frequency that the carcinoma epidermoide moderately differentiated (grade II) with 48,1% each one. The absence of habits of consumption of tobacco and alcohol obtained the major frequency, followed by the habit of consumption of tobacco and alcohol. The clinical stadium TNM III presented the major frequency with 40,8%y the clinical stadium TNM I the minor frequency with 3,7 %. The absence of treatment stood out on the surgical treatment and the combination of surgical treatment and chemotherapy.
