-- Objectives: To determinate the life styles and the body mass index of the policemen who works at the police station Alfonso Ugarte. Methodological design: The study is quantitative, application level, cross sectional method. Study Population: The study population was ninety five policemen middle age Technique and Instrument: The technique was the interview and the instrument was a questionnaire. Results: About the life styles it was found that 58% of the policeman has unhealthy life styles and 42% has healthy life styles. Related to the body mass index, 48% has Obesity grade I, 38% are overweight and just 14% are in normal values. Respect to the dimensions of the life styles study revealed that related to the feed, 61% doesn´t eat healthy food, on the other way 39% does, respect to the physical activity, 76% doesn´t do it, on the other hand 24% does, about the assistance to their medical control 51% doesn´t go, but 49% does, related to the consume of toxic substances, 63% consume them, on the other hand, 37% doesn´t. Finally, the study revealed that 60% of the policeman doesn´t have healthy life styles related to the rest and sleep, on the opposite, 40% does. Conclusions: The majority of the policeman who works at the police station Alfonso Ugarte has unhealthy lifestyles about feed, physical activity, assistance to their medical controls, consume of toxic substances and, rest and sleep.
