--- OBJECTIVE: To identify the attitudes and practices related to motherhood in sex workers attended the Health Center Mother Teresa Lima during 2015. METHODOLOGY: Observational study, with descriptive, prospective, crosssectional design with quantitative approach. The sample was conformed by 98 sex workers attended at the Health Center Mother Teresa of Calcutta in 2015. The type of sampling is not probabilistic saturation. For analysis was performed a descriptive analysis, estimating absolute and relative frequencies. RESULTS: The attitudes related to maternity that present the sex workers attended the Health Center Mother Teresa of Calcutta during 2015 are favorable (72.4%), while only 27.6% showed an attitude of rejection. With regard to experiences to motherhood before pregnancy, it was shown that 67.3% did not use contraception before pregnancy, 81.6% had no abortions before their first pregnancy and 57.1% sex worker every day. As to the experience toward motherhood during pregnancy; 55.1% did not continue with their sex work during pregnancy, the frequency of they exercised sex work during her pregnancy was once a week at 25.5%, the majority went to pre-natal checks before three months (54.1%), upon learning of the pregnancy felt concern 50.1%, 79.6% did not consume harmful substances such as alcohol or cigarettes during pregnancy and 73.5% said they felt no discrimination during her prenatal visits. In this regard the experience toward motherhood after gestation 61.2% had feelings of happiness when your baby was born; 57.1% did not consider leaving sex work after the birth of her baby; 35.7% returned to work a year to give birth and 20.4% after the month and 36.7% exercised sex work every day. CONCLUSIONS: The attitudes towards Motherhood among sex workers attended at the Health Center Mother Teresa Lima during 2015 were favorable (72.4%). Regarding experiences toward motherhood before pregnancy most: did not use contraception (67.3%), her had no abortions before the first child (81.6%); during pregnancy, most thought to leave sex work (55.1%) went to make their checks before three months (54.1%), it was concerned about their status (50%); and after pregnancy most of the sex workers: felt happiness at the birth of your baby (61.2%) do not consider leaving sex work (57.1%) had no trouble returning to sex work (67.3%) and uses contraceptive method (75.5%).
