--- Objective: determine the association between the level of knowledge and attitudes of obstetrician inmates about humanized birth of the Maternal Perinatal National Institute in May 2016. Methodology: observational study, with descriptive correlational design, prospective and cross-sectional. To this end, it worked with a sample composed of 53 obstetrician inmates whose have as headquarters the Maternal Perinatal National Institute in 2016. For the study data were analyzed in SPSS v.22 program, using measures of central tendency and dispersion as well as absolute frequencies and percentages. Besides testing Kolmogorov - Smirnov was performed to evaluate the distribution of data using nonparametric tests such as the chi-square test. Results: the average age of students was 23.3 years, being the most predominant (96.2%) single marital status. 26.4% of obstetrician inmates of the Maternal Perinatal National Institute have received training humanized birth. Regarding the level of knowledge 64.2% have “average“ knowledge and 20.8% knowledge “low“. 50.9% also have a favorable attitude and 49.1% unfavorable attitude. After applying the Kolmogorov – Smirnov test, it is observed that there is no normal distribution of data, therefore the square Chi nonparametric test was applied. In analyzing the association between the level of knowledge and attitudes of obstetrician inmates about humanized birth was observed that there is no connection between the two variables (p = 0.191), showing similar percentages in the data. Conclusions: There is no association between the level of knowledge and attitudes of obstetrician inmates about humanized birth of the Maternal Perinatal National Institute in May 2016.
