The objective of this professional proficiency work is to implement a Maintenance Management System to increase availability on the platforms of a distribution center for perishable products in a company in the retail sector. In periods prior to 2023, the retail company's platforms had an availability below 94%, which is very low for this type of assets, since they are mainly sectional doors, so the company was proposed a goal of 99%. At the beginning of 2022, the implementation of the maintenance management system based on Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), autonomous and planned maintenance, began. The methodology used included an initial evaluation of the condition of the equipment, the formation of autonomous work teams and the creation of specific maintenance plans for each type of equipment. Techniques such as root cause analysis, predictive maintenance and the implementation of operation and maintenance standards were applied; this implementation was carried out within 1 year. The results obtained show a significant improvement in platform availability, with an increase to 99%. In addition, an increase in staff participation and operational commitment was observed, which contributed to the culture of continuous improvement.
